Feathers and Bamboo

Dale Werner

Life is soft as a feather can be but it can drum like thunder playing on the bamboo trees.

It can weigh you down or make you float like a Bee; you could drift along with the currents or drag the bottom of the sea. Life is a mix of many things don’t you see;

It is a thunderous waterfall pouring over a cliff. It’s a soft snowflake settling onto a drift.

It’s the rush of skydiving filling your ears. It’s the laughter of children playing without fears.

It’s driving real fast in your speedy car. It’s a walk in the park contemplating who you are.

It’s an Eagle soaring high in the sky. It’s a wild herd thundering through the valley before your eye.

It’s a serene pond in the park sitting languid and still. It’s the mighty ocean waves crashing into the rocks and giving you a thrill.

It’s parties on the beach or dinner on the seas. It’s climbing a mountain or skiing through the trees.

It’s an evening drink or a walk in the breeze. It’s a kiss at midnight or holding hands and watching the sunset in the eves.

Life is soft as a feather can be but it can drum like thunder playing on the bamboo trees.

It keeps you moving forward sometimes at speed the adrenaline boost is something to heed but it also slows down at certain times and lets you contemplate life’s paradox’s and life’s rhymes.
