Indigo Skies

Hannah Erskine

So blue, so pigmented

You jump in

Swim the heavens

Bask among clouds

Though there are none

Lit by the sun

A glorious drop

Of blistering heat

The beating heart

Of all that lives

Violent creature

Throws us about the stars

Bright in the west

Gray in the east

Blue shot through between

Navy now, a glass full of stars

Millions and millions more

In a swirling, celestial dance

Indigo skies

So blue, so pigmented

A beauty for us

The second greatest creation

Behind each one of us
