Are You Not Tired Of Mourning Too?

Tim VanZeben

Barely a day goes by before,

Another shooting we ignore.

Was it planned or impromptu?

Are you not tired of mourning too?

It happens so much we’re immune,

Gun control laws—inopportune.

Treat mental health is what we’ll do.

Are you not tired of mourning too?

But here it seems that guns mean more,

Than people through which bullets tore,

“He must be crazy!” Right on cue.

Are you not tired of mourning too?

How can we change a culture where,

We’ve given in to this nightmare?

Lives torn apart we can’t undo.

Are you not tired of mourning too?
