The Snow Falls In Winter

Erica Magaraci

It is a chilled mid-November day
As the frozen white tears tumble
From the dull gray sky.
The branches are barren,
Sad and naked.
The red, brown, golden leaves
That so elegantly dressed the trees of autumn
Meld together on the cold hard ground
And decay with moisture from melted storms.
The earth seems quiet and serene
Asleep for the long winter ahead.
