Autodefenestration

Linn Luker

Think of the wolves teeth. Think of the insignificant dunes,
Crawling like children on negligent knees
When you think of her, think of me.

Think of the vast desert ocean,
Where only dust vultures should unfold
Lying still in wings and wintry decorum.

When the wolves must feast, lead them to me,
Never again will the beasts eat alone.
